ME to WE Lodge: Bogani

This is Kenya done differently.

When you join us at Bogani, your experience goes beyond a typical African safari. While traditional operators may encourage you to experience Africa from a jeep or overland truck, true explorers know that connecting with a place means connecting with its people. We’ve been working with our partner WE Charity and its development projects for over a decade, allowing us to form close bonds with local Maasai communities—a family you join when you travel with us.

Experience Bogani

At the end of each adventure-filled day, your accommodations at Bogani Cottages and Tented Camp—situated on the edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve—await. From creature comforts like hot showers, delicious meals and beautiful, comfortable accommodations, to expert local guides and friendly staff, we take care of every detail—letting you focus on being present and connected.

Location

Your journey with us begins in the Maasai Mara region—a stunning landscape dotted with acacia trees and rolling hills. As you make your way to Bogani, passing homesteads and farms, you’ll be greeted with friendly smiles, waves and excited calls of “Jambo!” (Swahili for hello) from local children. Feel at home the moment you arrive at Bogani, where our welcome staff are waiting to help you settle in to your comfortable private tent or cabin. It’s time to savor your first meal on our al fresco dining platform and look forward to the days to come!

Experience

Giving Back

Every trip with ME to WE directly supports projects in the communities we visit. We’ll take you to local communities, where you’ll step into the shoes of the families there. Visit their homes and schools and hear from locals how they’re working hand-in-hand with WE Charity to create a brighter future. If you choose, you can even get your hands dirty by contributing to an ongoing project, like a clean-water well, classroom or health clinic.

Experience

Community & Culture

Relax and reflect on red-checked shuka blankets set out under an acacia tree, joined by local mamas who are part of a women’s beading circle. Share laughs and stories about each other’s lives as you try your hand at making the intricate beaded creations that are traditional to Maasai culture. Accompany your Maasai Warrior guide to a scenic Mara hillside to try your hand at shooting a Maasai bow and arrow, and practice phrases in Swahili, the local language, on community visits. Feel a true connection to the places and people around you, every moment of your trip.
